Description
This is a very handsome Georgian oak lowboy.
With a deep apron, and 4 sturdy well defined cabriole legs, this is a robust piece of Georgian furniture with real charm and character. It would date to about 1750.
Excellent nut brown georgian oak colour and patina, wax finish
On the inside of the top drawer there is a very old hand written note glued to the back of the drawer. I would guess this is early Victorian. In very small script it reads:
'Valuation of ground rent arising from land situated at back school street great Bolton in the county of Lancaster belonging to the late Mr Buller Taylor Late of Taylor Fold in Great Bolton aforesaid amounting to the sum of 12/1. This I value at 20 years purchase at 12 – 1 – 8 (£12. 1s. 8 pence)

The low boy is in very good condition throughout.
Both back legs have had old block repairs to the feet where they have worn down.
The brass handles are old replacements, very correct in style and period for the piece and there are no scars from other handles.
