Description
Swiss, c1800
Gold & pearl case, 30.1 mm.
Verge escapement
A beautiful little Swiss verge in a pearl set gold case, all in particularly fine condition.
Movement : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance bridge, silvered regulator disk and four round pillars. Unsigned.
In excellent condition, with just some wear to the silver plating on the regulator disk. Running well.
Dial : A white enamel dial.
In good condition, with just a few light scratches, mainly around the winding aperture, and one tiny chip on the edge of the winding aperture
Gilt Breguet type hands.
Case : A wonderful gold and pearl set case, with engine turned engraving to the back. No maker’s or gold marks but a serial number 1179 stamped on the back of the stem.
The case tests as high carat gold (about 15 ct.).
All in very good condition. The gold is fine with no significant damage or wear. The split pearl borders to back and front are complete and undamaged. The crystal is fine.
The hinge is good and the front cover closes properly. It is sprung and flips open when pressing the button on the stem.
