Description
Late Victorian Gothic Revival Oak and Ebonised Armchair
• English Late Victorian Gothic Revival
• Oak
• Hand carving
• Ebonised highlighting
• H: 93cm (36.6") W: 51.5cm (20.3") D: 50cm (19.7")
This late Victorian Gothic Revival oak and ebonised armchair has the classical arched back and shaped sides with pierced tracery decoration. The ebonised highlighting around the tracery is a particularly nice feature. This is such a good statement chair and would be perfect in any décor, particularly in a entrance foyer or hallway, occasional lounge/dining room chair or as a bedroom chair.
It is in good, solid condition but it is lacking some of the small applied wood decoration to the sides as can be seen in the pictures, but this doesn’t in any way detract from its form or function. Restoration is available at an additional cost but it is not essential as this is a true representation of the original time worn look the chair has.
