A very handsome looking late Victorian Bergere armchair sitting in a lovely condition with mellow aging and the benefit of being re-caned around 20 years ago so no concerns with the canework. It sits well with some pleasing features: firstly its super quality - we have those slender well toned barrel shaped front legs which terminate on brass and pot casters; we have well shaped sweeping arms; and an ample and well supported seat, currently in a woven silk damask of a deep tone of Wedgewood blue. We can assist in professional re-upholstery of the seat if you wish at a cost of £165 plus VAT and it would require 1 metre of fabric which we are able to assist in choosing with samples etc. Apart from a few age marks the chair sits firm with no wobbles or repairs and is ready to place and enjoy. The seat offers good support and comfort. As mentioned, a lovely piece of late Victorian seating of first class quality.
