Description
This barograph with a Richard Freres, Paris movement likely imported by Negretti & Zambra of London for retailing through opticians or similar. Probably made just prior to World War 1 it has the traditional features of the period, hinged lid, steel finger protection angle to the lower crossbar, chart drawer to the base and bevelled glass. The mercury thermometer was an optional extra and included with this example. The case is in an attractive light mahogany.
A quantity of charts is included together with a fresh bottle of special blue recording ink and a reprinted pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.
