Minton Coffee Cup & Saucer c.1830

A porcelain coffee cup and saucer, produced at the Minton factory in Stoke on Trent, around 1830. Although applied to Minton's 'Dresden' shape ware, the pattern appears to be a copy of an earlier New Hall design, pattern number, 1154. It is possible that the present pair formed part of a number of pieces made by Minton as replacements for losses from an earlier New Hall tea set. If so, this would make them quite rare, as this is not a Minton stock pattern and would have been produced solely as a 'one off' special order.
