Description
An unusual small bone china porcelain coffee can from the Davenport manufactory. With a rich jade green enamel ground with reserves painted in a lemon yellow enamel and copious amounts of ornate gilding including holly style sprigs to the reserves and scallop shells and dentil border over the green ground. Finished with a decorative frieze inside the rim, wide gilt bands around the rims and an acanthus leaf detail to the handle. Rare printed puce mark, "manufacturer to their Majesties", c.1830-1840, and painted pattern number 1027 x in gilt.
