Description
A handsome Ercol sideboard dating to the second half of the 20th century.
The sideboard is solid and well made from elm and mixed woods, it is a quality piece by Ercol which features panelled doors, gently curved top edges and raised decorative dowels.
The front is fitted with double panelled doors which are held closed by a sliding central wooden latch, the doors open to reveal a single fixed shallow shelf.
Set above the doors are two spacious drawers finished with turned wooden knobs.
I have hand painted the main body of the sideboard in my own mix of water based black paint before sealing the finish with wax. The door panels and side panels have been stencilled and waxed, inspired by tribal tattoos.
The top of the sideboard has been sanded back to the natural wood and waxed for protection.
Condition
The sideboard is in solid structural condition with various minor cosmetic marks of age and use.
The cupboard and drawer interiors have some marks of use.
