Victorian Cast Iron Stick Hall Stand Untouched Condition
Standing in its untouched condition with a lovely patina, this ornate cast cane stand is just splendid with its layered paints of cream with hints of green, red and black - a history of differing fashions of colour!
It’s well-cast and sits firm with no cracks etc. It’s a decorative piece with the casting having a roman face in the middle and what looks like the Greek god of wine Dionysus below . Either side of the faces we have trailing foliage and some good looking reed and twist columns finishing with the original drip tray in situ. We have kept this one in its “as found” condition but I suppose it could be blasted if you want a more shiny finish.
A great looking piece of sensible proportions – perfect for the tennis rackets or brollies...
