This is an interesting car clock with an eight day movement. Originally mounted in the car dashboard the winding and hand setting is done with the knob on the side of the dial. Working and keeping good time but not guaranteed. Now mounted on a ‘hand made’ stand it still retains its original bracket so could be easily fitted on a vintage vehicle. A hand written label to the rear says “ salvaged (?) by Grandpa Nicolson from a car daring around 1914”. More probably the clock dates from c.1930. Some rubbing to the numbers on the face, and a little ding to the glass by the number VI.
Diameter of the main clock body 8cm...although it has a bulge to the side this is hidden behind the wood casing so should sit behind the dash and not show if fitted. Diameter of face 9.5cm.
