Description
Offered for your consideration is this novelty Volupte' powder compact which measures 6cm in diameter. The case is made of gold tone metal in a fob watch form complete with watch winder and hanging ring. The base has a fine machine turned circular pattern and the enamelled lid has numerals and watch hands with floral decoration on a pale cream ground.
The compact has firm hinge and secure catch and opens by pushing on the watch winder knob. Inside the compact has a clear and reflective glass mirror under the lid. The powder well in the base is empty of powder and retains the original sifter and puff.
This vintage powder compact is offered in good condition with a couple of minor dings to the base which are visible in certain light only. The enamelled lid is in good order with one tiny pinprick loss mentioned for complete accuracy. The case has no Id but the final image shows this compact in ad ad from Volupte' in 1953.
