1925 snakewood wood and 9ct gold hallmarked walking stick or cane. The pommel is fully hallmarked for 9ct gold and the London assay date for 1925 and the makers mark for Ebenezer Newman & Co stick mounters of Leonards Street, London.
The pommel is an engine turned decorated button gold cap. Mounted above the shaft which is snakewood. This is a rare to find wood and is strong enough to support a good weight. If you can find new snakewood cane today they are retailed for as much as £1000 with a silver top and a lot more than that with a gold cap like this. Quite dark in colour the markings in the wood show better in natural light.
The snakewood shaft is excellent with no damage or repairs. This is a very dense wood, heavy and very strong.
Please contact us with any questions you may have.
measurements
It measures 91.5cm (36 inches) in length, the pommel is 2.3cm (13/16 inch) wide and 2.3cm (11/16 inch) tall.
