Well Travelled Antique Steamer Trunk with Luggage Labels

This is a handsome antique steamer trunk dating to the early 20th century. Made from pine and metal lined the trunk is solid and heavy and would have once been used as a piece of luggage on long rail and sea journeys. The trunk is covered in brown vellum and has beech banding, to each end is a large carrying handle. The lid has metal catches to keep it closed and the inside of the trunk has a zinc metal lining. There are various luggage labels to the exterior and the top of the lid bears the last owners name painted in black lettering.
