Established in 2010, we are dealers in good quality antique furniture, silver, metalware, fine porcelain, artwork and glassware ranging from the 18th century to the early 20th century. We have a particular interest in the Arts and Crafts movement, and much of our stock dates to this era. We’ve published several books on antiques, which are available via Amazon.
We have a large dealers unit at Carlton Fine Arts and Antiques Centre in Salts Mill, Saltaire, West Yorkshire, and we stand at fine arts and antiques fairs in Yorkshire and Lancashire.
For sale is a very attractive Regency antique period fiddle pattern fish slice which has a very attractive pierced decorated blade and the handle is also decorated with what looks like the very ornate letters HFFN. The reverse of the handle carries the very clear silver hallmarks for London 1817 and the very rubbed makers mark for what looks like William Bateman I. In photograph 5 it is just possible to make out the curvature of the start of the William Bateman stamp along with the start of the letter W, but in real life in the right light it is just possible to make out what looks like the W B along with the distinctive curvature of the start and the end of the William Bateman I stamp of this period.
The fish slice weighs approximately 125.7g and is 11 and 5/8 inches (29.5cm) long, and because of the rubbed makers mark is being sold at the very reasonable price of £160.
