William Manners Watercolour - Moonlight Scene Lancaster

William Manners (RBA 1860-1930) was a Yorkshire artist who painted in oil and watercolours. He lived in Otley before moving to the Lake District, where many of his paintings were executed. Elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1893. His moonlit scenes are the most sought after examples of his work and are generally much smaller than this fine example. Housed in its original frame with title verso. 'Moonlight Scene Lancaster' signed watercolour heightened with body colour.
