Charles Robert Ashbee - Designer

Robert Ashbee was a noted British Designer and Architect who came to prominence during the Arts & Crafts period. Although he worked in many areas from Furniture to Architecture to Metalwork, his silverware is considered among his most exquisite legacy. With his silver Ashbee blended organic forms and accentuated lines with coloured glass beads and cabochons to create uniquely elegant objects. Many of his works were expertly created by the Guild of Handicrafts he helped form.
