Description
A fine Bow porcelain figure of a charming young shepherd playing a bagpipe with his dog at his feet. Wearing a lilac hat, white jacket with Indian style floral decoration and pink lining, pale yellow breeches with red trim and red ribbons on his shoes. c.1754-1765.
Provenance: Peter Bradshaw collection and illustrated in "Bow Porcelain Figures" by Bradshaw, colour plate X, reference B115, also page 177. (The Dancing Shepherdess illustrated alongside is also available).

In very good condition: a repair to his left wrist and some very fine quality restoration to the little finger and possibly the bottom of his pipe. The brim of his hat has also been professionally restored. No other damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear.
