Description
A fine early Worcester porcelain blue and white porcelain butter boat, printed with the rare Rose and Running Border, c.1760-65. Moulded overlapping geranium leaves form the outside of the bowl and base, blue crescent mark to base. Irregular shaped rim with small looped handle. Reference: Worcester Blue & White Porcelain, Branyan, French & Sandon, section II.C.5, described as "rare".

It measures 9cm (3 1/2") long, 6.8cm (2 5/8") wide and 3.7cm (1 7/16") high.

condition
Condition is excellent; there is a small chip under the handle thumb rest and a nick to the outer rim close by, alongside a short firing hairline. No other damage, repair or restoration and very minor handling wear.
