The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name Unicorn.
The founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf, created a number of sub brands of Rolex such as Unicorn, Marconi and Rolco. The idea was to produce a more affordable watch that was from Rolex but not labelled as Rolex. The Unicorn name was registered in 1919.
The watch measures 32.5mm wide excluding the winding crown, and 32.5mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Glasgow (import mark), 1924 with a sponsor’s mark of W&D, for Wilsdorf & Davis.
The case is in good condition with just general light surface marks, nothing serious at all.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The dial is signed just above the sub second dial, leaving the top half for the original retailer’s details. Some old damage to the edge of the dial but mostly covered by the bezel. A hairline crack over number 3 but again, mostly covered by the bezel.
The watch has a later leather strap with an after market buckle with a Rolex style crown.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.

Please contact us for international shipping prices (Ddu, details in delivery information section below).
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a Vat registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the red 'Buy Now' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
