Description
Something out of our normal items, we present a lovely 19th C Dutch Sugar Bowl decorated with the inevitable putto and human figures undertaking tasks in a rural setting. British hallmarked silver is our specialism so it is unusual for us to obtain a piece of Dutch silver. There are several rubbed ‘mark’ groupings which makes things a little more complex, consequently we apologise if those marks we can decipher prove inadequate to you dear buyer. In short there is; a key intruding into a lion in a lozenge which we understand relates to the export status. There is a Lion Passant which indicates 2nd standard purity (833) and a Minerva Head Duty Mark, along with what we understand is a very rubbed Amsterdam Mark, but no clear makers mark.
