Description
The watch has a 17-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. This is a good quality movement with screw set jewels and Hampden Star patent regulator. The movement is signed Hwc, Canton, O together with the grade name, Dueber Grand, and it carries the serial number 1,320,381 which dates it back to 1899. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has been engraved, ‘D A Cripps, from Mother’. There is some scratching to this inner cover.
The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is the 14k gold filled Dueber Special full hunter model. It is nicely decorated on both the front and the back. There is a little unevenness to the front and back covers but not too noticeable on the outside.
The acrylic lens is in good condition, one short 3mm scratch to the edge.
The dial is signed has three short hairlines but they are faint. Lever set hands.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
All prices include UK postage (excluding Northern Ireland).

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
