Robert Lillie Watercolour - Her Toilet

Robert Lillie (1867-1949) was a painter who lived in London and Milngavie, Scotland. Exhibited works at The Royal Academy, The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and The Scottish Academy. This beautiful example of the artists work was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1905. It comes with the original purchase receipt dated 1983 when it was purchased from the well respected Priory Gallery, Bishops Cleeve, near Cheltenham for £1250 (equivalent to approximately £4500 at the present time). ‘Her Toilet’ signed watercolour. Gallery label verso indicating exhibited at The Royal Academy in 1905. This fine example of the artists work would be equally at home in a modern or period setting, such is the timeless nature of the image.
