This is a post war mahogany barograph by well known manufacturers' Short & Mason of London. The concertina set of bellows and the pen arm gate suspension indicate that the instrument was produced around 1946/1950. The five glass case has a lift-off lid, a chart drawer to the base and original ink bottle with brass dipper. Interestingly, this instrument comes with a sales receipt from July 2002 for £1195.
A selection of charts will be included together with a fresh bottle of recording ink and a re-printed pamphlet describing operating instructions and interpretation of various chart recordings.
