This is described in Taylor Instruments' 1920 trade catalogue as a Tycos Yacht Barometer. The text says this is 'a flanged-front model for inset mounting. It is a pattern eminently suitable for yachts, motor boats, chart or state rooms and (yes), Bungalows'! Taylor Instruments were American agents for London manufacturers, Short & Mason Ltd. The catalogue notes that the barometer is made in America, however this example clearly states it was 'Made in Gt. Britain' by Short & Mason, London even though it carries the Tycos logo. I can only conclude that this instrument, apart from the later oak hardwood case, was made just prior to 1920 whilst Taylor Instruments were in the process of setting up production.
