Description
This is a classic 1920s barograph, probably manufactured by Short & Mason for the retail market, ie, opticians, scientific instruments and marine stores. In polished mid/golden Oak the instrument has bevelled glass to the lift-off lid, a chart drawer to the base with splayed feet. The barograph movement is secured to a matt black lacquered brass base which matches the clock drum lid and base. The clock movement is the tried and tested 1909 patent.
A quantity of charts is included together with a fresh bottle of special blue or red recording ink and a reprinted pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.
