Description
We have for sale a rather hard to find William Quaker Pegg Derby Dessert Plate c1798. This decorative late 18th century Derby plate is decorated with an American Cowslip along within a typical gilt botanical border. The back of the plate carries the Duesbury mark in blue along with the script in blue Dodecatheon Meadia American Cowslip. The plate is illustrated in the book The Pendock Barry Porcelain Service: A Forensic Evaluation by Denyer, Denyer and Edwards, Springer Nature, 2023, Isbn-9783031258121 The plate is 9 inches (22.86cm) in diameter and is in a good antique condition with no chips cracks or repairs, but the decoration shows some wear and there is a firing fault towards the lower edge of the right hand lower leaf.
