Adams - Cabinet-maker

The Adams Style has become synonymous with quality 18th Century Neoclassical design and furniture. Based on the works of noted architect William Adam and his three sons whose reputation earned them many noted commissions, In 1773 two of the sons Robert & James Adams produced a pattern book based on their family’s designs. This would prove to be an extremely influential book among their contemporaries. Key Adams style motifs include classical Roman designs, pilasters, dancing maidens and floral garlands. Popularity for the style died out at the turn of the 19th Century, but was revived at the start of the 20th Century. At LoveAntiques we have a good selection of competitively priced antique and vintage furniture in the Adams style.
