A decorative patinated bronze herald with detachable brass horn. Smaller versions are sometimes seen on Grandfather clocks. This one was likely to have been made as a stand-alone item and appears contemporary with its base. There is minor restoration to the rear of the base, a replaced baize and a tiny flaw on the trumpets rim, which may be a foundry artefact. The belt buckle has some of the base bronze showing through due to rubbing. The piece appears unsigned and the country of origin is unknown. Some versions show heralds holding part of the gown in the left hand and others flowers. This version was cast as it appears and I have seen another exact copy.
