This is a very elegant and attractive three piece drawing room suite dating to the Edwardian period. The suite comprises a tub-shaped two-seater settee and matching pair of armchairs in mahogany (his and hers, consequently with some slight differences in height). All items feature interestingly shaped padded show wood backs with pierced vase-shaped side splats, slightly scrolled over arms, and bow fronted seats raised on plain cabriole forelegs. This drawing room suite is made by Cornelius V Smith, who was a London-based manufacturing upholsterer, frame maker and cabinet maker in the nineteenth century. All items are in fact stamped Cvs to the rear legs. The padded backs and seats have all been fully traditionally re-upholstered by The Sitting Place. The inside backs and seats are finished in Larkana Plain fabric (light blue colour with a small scale crisscross pattern) by Nina Campbell. The outside backs are finished in Larkana Lavani fabric (contrasting coloured spots in a grid formation) also by Nina Campbell. This suite, which is very comfortable, would look lovely in a lounge area and even in a conservatory. The woven fabrics also contribute to the overall comfort. This suite can easily fit any décor by adding decorative loose cushions that match the desired colour scheme, as shown in the example. Table, accessories and loose cushions are for display purposes only and not for sale.
